Physical Science Short Courses
How it works
The learner attends a series of lessons covering a single topic.
The series ends in an assessment of knowledge and skills gained.
Each course typically takes between 8 and 14 hours depending on the topic and learner requirements.
An example: a 9-hour short course on electromagnetism for a Grade 11 learner.
Who will benefit?
- Learners who have identified a topic they need to improve on.
- Learners who for some reason have missed a series of lessons at school.
- Learners who are preparing for a term test at school on a specific topic.
- Grade 9 Natural Science and Grade 10 to 12 Physical Science learners, at both DBE and IEB schools. (Both write the same NSC at the end of Grade 12.)
Why it works
A Science short course starts at a basic level and progresses up to the required grade level.
After completion of the short course, areas requiring improvement are identified, and further remedial action are suggested to achieve mastery.
A short course is intensive and focused on one specific topic in a relatively short space of time.
When to enrol
- Whenever needed, on demand (A learner can start at relatively short notice)
- Before term tests
- After having missed consecutive lessons of school lessons
- After school tests reveal an understanding below expectation
Master Maths was established in 1976, and we have helped two generations of learners succeed with maths. In 2011 we added Physical Science lessons to our service offering.
